Interior Metal

Interior doors are less celebrated than their exterior counterparts.  Perhaps because the desired “curb appeal” aspect is absent, people spend less time and thought on creating an interior door experience.  And this lack of respect for the interior door is also a missed design opportunity.

In recent years, the use of metal doors for entry and other exterior doors has grown exponentially.  It’s not only a modern take on the door, but the cleaning and maintenance are dramatically less time-consuming than that of a wooden door.  Though aluminum and metal doors create drastically different aesthetics, they remain viable options for your home, even if you’re not an ultra-modern fan.

Here’s a few ways to integrate an aluminum door in your home:

1. Laundry Door.  An aluminum door with, one, three, or five lights, can create sophistication in one of the messier rooms in the house.  If you select a frosted or other glass design, you can hide those messes while also keeping the flow of natural light from your home to the laundry room.  The aluminum also signifies a change in purpose, giving notice to guests that this room is unlikely a space for visitors unless specifically directed otherwise.

2. Master Bath Door.  A sliding aluminum door is a great way to add dimension to the attached bath in your master bedroom.  Using a sliding or barn door function maximizes the space in  the inside (if you pick an in-swing) or the outside (for an out-swing door), and if you include a lite (one, three or five), you can again create openness without the transparency of clear glass.  A bonus is the moisture from the showers will have less penetrating effect than they would on a wood door.

3. Kitchen Door.  okay, so this is not going to be the dutch door, pie-cooling ledge look (although ETO Doors does offer Dutch doors, should you be interested in the same), but most chefs would agree, you can never have too much natural light in your kitchen. Pick an aluminum door with one or three lights, and a clear or near-clear glass option, and watch your kitchen feel larger instantly. We can’t makeup for the lack of counter space though…

If it’s time to replace some of your interior doors, ETO Doors offers a wide selection of aluminum doors made in the downtown Los Angeles warehouse, and ready to ship anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.  To hear more about the aluminum doors, or the other doors ETO doors offers, call 888 DOORS ETO or go to www.etodoors.com.
